Things were going so well for Florida basketball but the Gators hit a road bump on Saturday afternoon in Nashville, where the Vanderbilt Commodores caught them with their pants down in a last-minute 79-78 win.
Todd Golden’s team built a double-digit lead in the first half but allowed the ‘Dores to stay in the game heading into the locker room after 20 minutes. The home squad came out firing in the second frame and simply did not let up until the final horn.
Four Gators scored in double-figures, led by Zyon Pullin’s 20 points along with his eight assists, five rebounds and a steal. Tyrese Samuel (16), Walter Clayton Jr. (14) and Alex Condon (11) were the other three in double-digits.
