Florida softball earned a walk-off win on Wednesday night against the visiting South Florida Bulls inside Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium thanks to a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning by utility player Emily Wilkie — the second slam of her collegiate career. The home victory pushed the 13th-ranked Gators’ season record to 32-11 overall.
Elizabeth Hightower got the start on the bump for the Orange and Blue, lasting five innings while allowing three earned runs on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Reliever Rylee Trlicek tossed a pair of scoreless frames allowing just one hit to earn the win. Second baseman Reagan Walsh went 3-for-4 with a home run to pace Florida on offense.
The Gators return to Southeastern Conference action with a three-game road series this Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Tennessee in Knoxville at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
