Florida football bounced back from an ugly season-opening game to start the 2023 campaign perfect at home with a 49-7 win over the McNeese State Cowboys inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday night.
In their loss to the Utah Utes in Week 1, the Gators struggled at all aspects of the game. This weekend, Billy Napier’s boys found their groove with the offense finally figuring things out while the defense responded to some early struggles to lock down the visitors for the near-shutout.
At the end of the day, the three-headed threat in the backfield consisting of Montrall Johnson Jr., Trevor Etienne and Treyaun Webb carried the Orange and Blue to victory while wide receiver Ricky Pearsall hauled in a score and the defense earned a safety as well.
