Former Florida Gators quarterback [autotag]Anthony Richardson[/autotag] made his NFL debut in the preseason opener between his Indianapolis Colts and the Buffalo Bills on Saturday. While his performance was far from stellar, Colts head coach Shane Steichen said the 21-year-old “had great poise.”
The rookie signal-caller fresh out of the draft with the fourth overall selection last April completed 7 of 12 pass attempts for 67 yards and an interception over three series before making way for the other two QBs on the roster. The main takeaway from his brief appearance is that the Gainesville native handled the mental side of the game incredibly well — especially given his young age.
