The Georgia Bulldogs are moving to 5-0 after escaping with a 27-20 road win at Auburn.
Auburn capitalized on a pair of Georgia turnovers (a Carson Beck interception and a Oscar Delp fumble) to score 14 points off turnovers. The Tigers opened up a 10-0 first quarter lead before Georgia tied it up going into halftime. The Tigers rushed for 219 yards on Georgia’s defense.
Georgia tight end Brock Bowers hauled in seven catches for 148 receiving yards and a touchdown in the second half. Bowers and Beck helped power Georgia’s comeback. Carson Beck finished with 313 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception in his first career road start. Beck was steady and confident in clutch situations.
Georgia freshman kicker Peyton Woodring make two field goals to help the Bulldogs stay in the game.
Defensively, Georgia held Auburn to only 88 passing yards. The Dawgs have to improve their run defense. Georgia safety Malaki Starks made the game-sealing interception in the fourth quarter.
