The Tigers had the advantage for most of Monday night’s regional final Game 7, leading North Carolina 3-2 with a spot in the super regional on the line.
But they couldn’t maintain that lead as the Tar Heels tied the game in the top of the ninth and sent it to extras. UNC took the lead in the top of the 10th, and LSU was unable to answer in the bottom of the frame.
