Tennessee is set to retire Chris Lofton’s No. 5 jersey Saturday.

The Vols will host Kentucky at Thompson-Boling Arena. Tipoff is slated for noon EST and ESPN will televise the Southeastern Conference matchup.

Lofton played for the Vols from 2004-2008. He was a three-time All-American and the SEC Player of the Year in 2007.

He holds the SEC record for 3-point attempts made by a freshman (93). The mark was previously held by LSU’s Chris Jackson.

Lofton was named to Tennessee’s all-century team in 2009 and was inducted into the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame (2014).

Lofton, a native of Maysville, Kentucky, played professional basketball for 10 years in Europe and Asia.

He becomes the fifth Tennessee men’s basketball player to have his number retired. Lofton joins Bernard King, Ernie Grunfeld, Dale Ellis and Allan Houston.
