The Texas Longhorns and fans held their annual Texas Fight Rally Wednesday evening ahead of the 120th rendition of the Red River Rivalry game against the Oklahoma Sooners.
The event is held each year ahead of the marquee matchup. The rally starts with a parade up Guadalupe Street between 21st and 25th streets then heads to the UT Tower where the cheerleaders, band, students and fans give the team a Texas-sized send off for the 100 mile trip to Dallas.
Quinn Ewers was at the rally, an early indication he was about to be officially named the starter for the OU game. The rally adds to the building hype around the neutral site game.
This will be the first time the Longhorns and Sooners have met as a part of the SEC. The game is the most like a bowl game of any regular season college football game in the nation. The fact that the fans are split down the 50, instead of the endzone only heightens the intensity. Since 1932, the game’s site has been the Cotton Bowl inside Fair Park in Dallas.
