It was emotional. The Texas Longhorns dominated the UTSA Roadrunners at DKR in Austin 56-7. But it wasn’t without drama.
Heisman favorite Quinn Ewers was knocked out of the game with an apparent abdominal injury. Arch Manning came into the game and scored on his first play. Then scored on his third play. Then kept scoring until he had accounted for five touchdowns. Manning finished 9 of 12 for 223 yards and looked every bit the future superstar Longhorns fans hope he is.
The Texas defense gave only gave up a total of 260 yards and one TD, a 53-yard run by UTSA RB Robert Henry.
Overall it was a big night at DKR that was dampened by Ewers injury. We’ll see in the coming days how severe it is. With Sark openly saying he wanted to get Arch more playing time this season, it’s a good bet Manning will start next week against UL Monroe in Austin.
