PHOTOS: A look at Florida football’s QB room at Saturday’s open practice

Here’s a look at Florida’s quarterback corps from this Saturday’s open practice in the Swamp.

Florida football held its preseason practice inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday, which was the first opened to the public in nine years as Billy Napier and Co. continue to prepare for the upcoming college football season.

One of the biggest questions entering the fall resides under center for the Orange and Blue, where a pair of former Big Ten transfers are duking it out for the starting role. Presumably, former Wisconsin Badger Graham Mertz, who arrived in Gainesville this offseason, has the edge on former Ohio State Buckeye Jack Miller III, who was a backup on his current team last year.

There is also Max Brown, a former three-star prospect in the 2022 class, who is also in the mix but is very likely to hold a clipboard again this season. As for who gets the QB1 role, Napier has yet to anoint a starter with just weeks to go before the opening kickoff.
