Jeffrey Lurie was supposed to offer a state of the franchise address back in March, but the coronavirus pandemic pushed his statements back until late August.
On Sunday, the Eagles owner addressed the media and before talking about his quarterback or his team’s Super Bowl chances, Lurie spoke passionately for 15 minutes about systemic racism, COVID-19, and the importance of this upcoming election.
Lurie indicated that he would offer up Lincoln Financial Field for voting purposes and said he’s “optimistic” the football season can happen, but he’s “really cognizant” that the coronavirus can change that.
On his team’s social justice initiative, Lurie stated that he told the Eagles social justice committee that he “supports them” and will do whatever he can to support what they ultimately decide to do.

Lurie went on to say that he is not concerned about the NFL postponing or canceling games, stating that he supports activism: I” know our players will do what’s best.”
