On Friday evening, Pro Football Focus released the fantasy ranking of quarterbacks for week five of the NFL season. Former Wisconsin quarterback and current Seattle Seahawks’ starting quarterback, Russell Wilson, was ranked as the fourth-best fantasy quarterback in week five.
Wilson is having an MVP year already, and for him to be ranked as the fourth-best option ahead of a potentially very lucrative matchup against a weak Minnesota Vikings secondary is surprising, to say the least. He landed behind Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Dak Prescott. All of these quarterbacks have had outstanding fantasy seasons, but after setting NFL records for a number of passing touchdowns through weeks three and four, many, including myself, would have ranked Wilson higher.
Despite not being ranked the top fantasy option for week five, Russell Wilson is having an MVP worthy season to this point and has led the Seahawks to an undefeated record in a strong division.
