Yesterday afternoon, Pro Football Focus tweeted out two interesting Jonathan Taylor fantasy football predictions for next season. Both show how analysts have really high expectations for the Salem N.J. native in his rookie season.
Mike Renner predicted that Taylor will finish in the top three in rushing yards this season. This is an extremely bold prediction for Taylor, especially when he will share snaps next season with a Pro Bowl-caliber running back in Marlon Mack. I have no doubt that Jonathan Taylor can accomplish this feat, but a crowded backfield may make obtaining this statistic impossible.

In Ian Haritz’s Top 300 Fantasy Football Ranking, Jonathan Taylor came in as the 19th ranked running back. Haritz even predicted that Taylor would finish significantly behind rookie Kansas City Chiefs’ running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire that was ranked as the fifth overall running back. Despite not being in the top 15 for running backs, Taylor is ranked in a fair spot for sharing snaps with two others in the Indianapolis Colts backfield.

I think Jonathan Taylor can finish the season significantly above average fantasy-wise, so my prediction for his season falls somewhere in between that of Mike Renner and Ian Haritz. Even though he is playing in a crowded backfield, the Indianapolis Colts are the best team to be playing for as a running back in the NFL because of their elite offensive line and a run-heavy offensive scheme.
