[autotag]Will Campbell[/autotag] started at left tackle as a true freshman in 2022. LSU had high hopes for the five-star recruit, but he still managed to exceed them.
Now gearing up for his sophomore campaign, PFF considers Campbell a top-10 offensive tackle, ranking him sixth.
“The true freshman’s 85.6 pass-blocking grade on true pass sets ranked third in the country and trailed only Peter Skronski among Power Five tackles,” PFF wrote.
It’s worth noting that Skronski was a first-round pick in the NFL draft last month.
PFF writes that Campbell has a good chance of being the first tackle off the board in 2025 and should only be higher on this list next year.
Campbell was a key piece of LSU’s turn-around last year. Following a couple seasons of inconsistent line play, the freshman proved to be just the anchor the Tigers needed.
He wasn’t the only true freshman starting. At right tackle, LSU played [autotag]Emery Jones[/autotag], also in Year 1.
The two are a large reason why many are bullish on LSU entering the fall.
