The Bills added Stefon Diggs because the team’s offense was in need of a deep-ball, true No. 1 threat at wide receiver. According to Pro Football Focus, the Bills added just what the doctor ordered.
PFF released analytical information on deep balls last season. Diggs was among the best in the NFL.
Per the analytics outlet, Diggs had 15 catches which were 20-plus yards down the field in 2019. That was tied for the second-most among receivers in the NFL, along with Cowboys wideout Amari Cooper. That only player to pull in more was Lions receiver Kenny Golladay, who had 16.

Diggs’ ability should help Bills quarterback Josh Allen improve his deep-ball accuracy next season, as well, if things go according to plan. It’s not just called a throw, it’s a throw and catch. The Bills now have among the best at one of those parts, which won’t hurt.
