Giants quarterback Eli Manning announced his retirement last week, ending a career that was highlighted by two Super Bowl wins. After the news of Eli’s retirement broke, his older brother, Peyton, sat down with the Broncos’ media team to look back on Eli’s career.

During the interview, Peyton revealed his favorite Super Bowl memory.

“I got to play in four Super Bowls, I got to be on the winning side of two, and I think people don’t really believe me or are surprised [when I say] my greatest Super Bowl memory is watching my little brother take the New York Giants down the field in a two-minute drill and beat the undefeated Patriots and all that came with that,” Manning said.

Peyton then went on to reflect on what it was like growing up with Eli and shared a great story about driving him to high school — be sure to watch the full interview here.

The Patriots went 16-0 in 2007 and faced the 10-6 Giants in Super Bowl XLII. New York was a big underdog but Eli overcame the odds and led an 83-yard touchdown drive late in the contest to take a 17-14 lead. New England was unable to match that score and Eli won his first Super Bowl.

“It was kind of surreal,” Peyton recalled. “So that’s my greatest Super Bowl memory without a doubt, even more than the ones I was able to participate in. He did it. There’s a famous Bill Parcells quote after he tells their team: ‘Don’t let anybody ever tell you that you couldn’t do it, because you did it.’ He did it, and he did it the right way for a long time.”
