Former Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning joined Brandon Stokley and Zach Bye on 104.3 The Fan on Wednesday and he was asked about Denver needing to add a top wide receiver during the draft.
“A wide receiver, obviously, that’d be exciting if the Broncos got a wide receiver,” Manning said. “I hear people talking about Jerry Jeudy from Alabama. I’ve watched him torch my Tennessee Vols the past few years. So, I know what an exciting player he was.”
During his three years with the Crimson Tide, Jeudy caught 159 passes for 2,742 yards and 26 touchdowns.
“I think as a wide receiver, you’re looking for a guy that loves football, No. 1,” Manning said. “Truly loves football, loves the work. Loves to work on his route running, practices hard [and] can keep himself healthy . . . . I think you’re looking for a durable guy that obviously catches the ball well and can make some explosive plays.”
If Denver’s staff feels that Jeudy fits the description Manning provided, he would be an excellent choice for the Broncos in the first round.
