Texas football players reported for fall camp on Tuesday.
Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian spoke with the media ahead of the teams first practice, and also had Pete Kwiatkowski, Jeff Banks and Kyle Flood available to answer questions.
The three assistant coaches will be critical to Texas’ success this upcoming season. Flood primarily discussed the development of the offensive line, the incoming freshman class and the three most important traits he looks for in a player.
Banks touched on the kicking competition between Will Stone and Burt Auburn, along with rising players on special teams.
Kwiatkowski perhaps had the most jaw-dropping answer of the day when asked about Texas’ pass rush. “What pass rush?,” he said. While certainly true, his statement caught many by surprise.
Here’s a look at key comments from the three coaches during their media availability on Tuesday.
