Penn State basketball playing role of underdog against LSU in Emerald Coast Classic

Penn State men’s basketball is an underdog for the first time this season against LSU in the Emerald Coast Classic, according to Tipico

Penn State is spending its Thanksgiving weekend down in Florida as the Emerald Coast Classic continues. After winning their first game in the tournament at home earlier in the week against Cornell, overcoming a tough start to get past the Big Red, Penn State will now play as an underdog for the first time this season when they face the LSU Tigers on Friday evening.

According to Tipico, Penn State is 9.5-point underdog against LSU. The Tigers come into the game having played solid defense and are undefeated coming into the matchup with the Nittany Lions. LSU has not allowed an opponent to score more than 60 points in a game, and LSU is averaging 85.4 points per game early on this year. With Penn State not having quite the same offensive production and taking one bad loss on the road against UMass, it was expected LSU would be a solid favorite in the game.

Here is a look at the latest odds from Tipico for the Emerald Coast Classic contest on Friday.

Penn State-LSU odds from Tipico

  • Penn State: +9.5 (-108)
  • LSU: -9.5 (-112)
  • Penn State moneyline: +370
  • LSU moneyline: -520

  • Under 141.5: -108

On the football field this week, Penn State has gone from being listed as an underdog to a road favorite at Michigan State this weekend. Penn State had been a 1.5-point underdog on the road, but is now listed by Tipico as a 1.5-point favorite.
