Who: New Orleans Pelicans vs. Sacramento Kings
When: Tuesday, Aug. 11, 9:00 p.m ET
How to watch: Fox Sports New Orleans, TNT
Odds: Pelicans -1
Coming into the bubble, Tuesday’s game figured to have a lot of drama with at least one of those sides, likely the New Orleans Pelicans, vying for the playoffs. Instead, it’s the first match-up after both sides were eliminated from the playoffs officially on Sunday.
The Pelicans will be without a trio of stars in Jrue Holiday, Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson. The Kings, though, will sit De’Aaron Fox and Richaun Holmes for Tuesday’s game.
The two sides met previously in the bubble in one of the Pelicans’ many disappointing performances as they fell 140-125. That match-up was indicative of New Orleans’ underwhelming results since coming to Orlando with a defense that struggled from the opening tip.
Tuesday’s game, though, will be devoid of any drama. Neither side can improve or worsen their lottery standings and both have been eliminated from the playoffs. Essentially, the game will serve as a try-out for pending free agents and a developmental game for young players.
