With the Los Angeles Lakers potentially losing veteran guard Rajon Rondo in free agency as he will opt out and see what he can get on the market, point guard has been a position of interest for observers of the Lakers. LeBron James was excellent at running the show all season long, but Rondo’s emergence in the playoffs also showed how much it can help to take LeBron James off the ball from time to time, letting him be a cutter and more of a post-up threat. Which is why the latest NBA trade rumors could be of interest.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the New Orleans Pelicans are openly discussing veteran point guard Jrue Holiday in trade talks with teams who are considered contenders.

The Lakers truly don’t have a lot to trade, seeing as they gave up all of their best trade assets to the Pelicans in the trade for Anthony Davis. However, with Holiday being a major roster upgrade and a Los Angeles native with experience next to Anthony Davis, it’s worth keeping an eye on.
