Patriots QB Mac Jones pullled back curtain on prep work with Bill Belichick

What is it like preparing for games with Bill Belichick? Mac Jones pulled back the curtains on the pre-game work with the legendary coach.

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones showed some improvements on Sunday, throwing for 316 yards and three touchdowns against a tough Philadelphia Eagles defense.

Even though New England lost by a 25-20 score, there were still things to be positive about.

Jones detailed his preparation with coach Bill Belichick throughout the course of the week. When appearing on  “Jones & Mego”, he pulled back the curtain on the type of meetings he has with Belichick.

“You’re not going to get a better source of knowledge than him,” said Jones. “He knows everything about defense and offense, and special teams. You kind of get the full picture. It’s like a doctor who can do every type of medicine. It’s pretty cool.

“…We have great meetings. Whether it’s with the team, individual, quarterbacks. He’s very proactive with what he does. It’s not like he’s trying to have a squad meeting and then not talk to us. …He’s very good at building a plan, and that’s what’s made him great for so long.”

Jones had a rough start in the game, including throwing a pick-six to Eagles cornerback Darius Slay. However, the Patriots quarterback was able to settle down and turn things around in the second half. All things considered, he had a strong debut against one of the top defenses in the NFL.

The cohesiveness between Jones and the offensive staff was not there last season. So far, it seems like things are progressing at a much faster rate.
