With the New England Patriots losing to the Miami Dolphins by a 27-24 score, their postseason depends upon who wins the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders’ matchup on Sunday night.

With a Chargers’ win, the Patriots play the Bengals in Cincinnati. With a Raiders’ win, the Patriots play the Bills in Buffalo.

New England had a shot at winning the AFC East heading into Week 18, but with the Bills beating the New York Jets on Sunday, the Patriots’ loss didn’t hugely impact the playoff seeding. So they’ll await the final result of Sunday Night Football to begin game-planning for their opponent — even if their opponent won’t actually be playing in the game.
