Patriots loss means Jets stay alive one more week

Jets get a gift from the Bengals

The playoffs may be farfetched for the Jets as Robert Saleh put it, but their hopes aren’t completely dead yet.

Thanks to the Cincinnati Bengals defeating the New England Patriots 22-18 on Saturday, the Jets will avoid elimination this week. They would have needed wins by the Chargers, Dolphins and Patriots as well as either a Ravens win or a Browns loss. The latter two both happened, but New England losing broke the combo and thus the  Jets will still have a pulse heading to Seattle next week.

The Jets will now be the biggest Green Bay fans out there, as a Packers win over the Dolphins on Sunday would give some extra life into the Jets’ playoff hopes. If that happens, the Jets would then just need to win their last two games and hope Miami beats New England next week.

So you’re saying there’s a chance? Yes, there’s a chance. Farfetched, but not impossible.
