The New England Patriots will be getting some major reinforcements in the defensive backfield on Sunday with cornerbacks Jonathan Jones and J.C. Jackson both being listed as active against the New Orleans Saints.
Jones has missed the last three straight games with a lingering ankle injury, while Jackson was acquired in a trade on Wednesday with the Los Angeles Chargers.
The duo’s arrival couldn’t have come at a better time for a Patriots team reeling after losing star rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez to a season-ending injury. Meanwhile, Marcus Jones and Jack Jones are both still on injured reserve.

Along with a banged-up defensive backfield, the Patriots will also be without their best pass-rusher, Matthew Judon, who is expected to miss a significant amount of time with a torn biceps.
This will be a game where some of the reserve players in New England will need to step up to give the team a fighting chance.
