Patrick Mahomes to Baker Mayfield: We’ll see you later this year

Mahomes expects to match up with the Browns later this year in the playoffs:

The Kansas City Chiefs got the better of the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. While the visiting Browns controlled much of the game, the Chiefs showed why they have been successful in the last few seasons.

Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, with Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy calling the shots, are a full offense by themselves. The revamped Cleveland defense couldn’t stop those three Kansas City stars.

While the team (and their fans) have no interest in “moral victories,” it was clear that the Browns and Chiefs belong on the same field and could match up during the postseason. That analysis is not only found by the media but Mahomes believes it as well as he said to Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield after the game:

Mahomes and Mayfield have a history dating back to college. Shortly before transferring to Oklahoma, Mayfield hosted Mahomes on his visit to Texas Tech. The two later put on an amazing offensive show against each other in 2016 when Mayfield’s Sooners matched up against Mahomes’ Red Raiders.

The Chiefs and Browns could match up again in the playoffs with Mayfield looking for revenge from Week 1. Mahomes is expecting the match-up.
