Patrick Mahomes showed off his broadcast chops by perfectly predicting Broncos plays during ManningCast

Patrick Mahomes is even elite while diagnosing a play during the ManningCast.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed off his unreal football smarts on Monday night’s ManningCast while predicting a Denver Broncos defensive play.

While talking with Peyton and Eli Manning, Mahomes knew the exact play that the Broncos would run to contain quarterback Josh Allen and exactly which Broncos player (outside linebacker Nik Bonitto) would spy the quarterback on the play.

The Mannings were very impressed with Mahomes’ ability to diagnose the play, especially since it’s a formation that has literally happened to him this season when the Chiefs played the Broncos.

Mahomes is one of the smartest players in the league for a reason, evident in this stellar breakdown of a play as it was happening.

He also predicted how the Broncos would score on a touchdown drive a bit later in the game.

Mahomes has a bright future ahead of him when his playing days are over, as he could easily hop into the booth and provide great commentary one day on the game he now plays.

While we’re sure Mahomes wants to win a few more Super Bowls before retiring, his ManningCast appearance inspires confidence in a future where he’s calling games on Sundays instead of playing them.
