The Milwaukee Bucks entered the final week of the regular season not knowing what Eastern Conference seed they would have in the playoffs. In the end, they claimed the third seed. The 51-31 Bucks also won the Central Division by five games over the Chicago Bulls, whom they’ll play in the first round. Pat Connaughton attempted to contribute as much as possible.
Connaughton started the weekly slowly, scoring only two points and grabbing four rebounds in an April 5 road win over the Bulls. He knocked down a pair of 3s when the Bucks beat the Boston Celtics at home April 7. His best performance came April 8 at the Detroit Pistons, against whom he had 10 points, four rebounds and two assists. Coach Mike Budenholzer opted to sit all of his regulars, including Connaughton, in the Bucks’ regular-season finale loss to the play-in tournament-bound Cleveland Cavaliers on April 10.
During the week, Connaughton averaged 6.0 points and 4.0 rebounds a game while shooting 35.3% from the field. He finished the regular season with a career-high 9.9 points a game to go with 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists a game. He shot 45.8% from the floor and 39.5% from 3-point range.
