Pass rusher prospect Tyree Wilson will not work out at NFL combine

The Texas Tech standout is recovering from a foot fracture. He is preparing to do athletic testing at his pro day.

The NFL combine has begun in Indianapolis and NFL draft prospects gather to be weighed, measured, interviewed, examined, tested and evaluated for teams can prepare for the draft.

Some prospects are eager to show what they can do physically. Others elect not to. Others are working their way back from injury.

Texas Tech edge defender Tyree Wilson, connected to the Cardinals in Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft, will not work out at the combine.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Wilson will wait until his pro day to do athletic testing.

Wilson is coming back from a fractured foot. Pelissero reports that Wilson is progressing well but has only recently begun to ramp up his workouts.

Wilson is considered one of the most talented and athletic pass rushers in the draft.

He is 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds.

In 2022 for the Red Raiders, he had 61 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and seven sacks.

He is raw, long and very athletic. His pro day numbers will likely be staggeringly good.
