Panthers sign S Kenny Robinson back to practice squad

The Panthers, for the third time this season, have signed S Kenny Robinson to their practice squad.

Kenny Robinson has returned . . . again.

After releasing the 2020 fifth-round pick less than a week ago to make room for the addition of cornerback T.J. Carrie, the Carolina Panthers signed Robinson back to their practice squad on Monday. This marks the third time the third-year safety has been added back to the group in 2022.

Robinson appeared in 19 games for the Panthers between 2020 and 2021. Primarily a special teams player during his time under former head coach Matt Rhule, he recorded 18 combined tackles and a touchdown return off a blocked punt—the franchise’s first since 1998.

The 23-year-old was first waived on Aug. 30, as a victim of the team’s cutdown to their initial 53-man roster. After being inked the next day, Robinson was then released on Sept. 2, brought back on Oct. 5 and released again on Nov. 15.

With the Panthers struggling to keep their secondary healthy, Robinson may ultimately see the field again before the season is over.
