The Panthers worked out a couple of wide receivers at the end of today’s training camp practice. One of them will be joining the squad.
According to the team website, Carolina has signed wide receiver Krishawn Hogan.
Hogan (6-foot-3, 217 pounds) has bounced around a bit in the NFL, spending time with four other teams so far. He hasn’t seen much of the field, though – catching just one pass for four yards total.
The Panthers didn’t have any traditional red zone type receivers on their roster last year, which was one of many reasons why they struggled inside the 20.
To win a permanent roster spot, Hogan will have to beat out guys like Omar Bayless and Keith Kirkwood, who are the other big-bodied pass catchers in the mix.
