In one of the more interesting and thoughtful moves by the NFL and Lowe’s, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young got an interesting gift. Young told our friends over at Panthers Wire that he actually received the portion of the stage he stood on at Union Station after being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. A move that meant a lot to Young.
“It’s super meaningful,” Young said of the gesture. “That’s something that you dream of your whole life, and it was where your dreams come true. And me being able to walk across that stage is something that I’ll hold on to forever. Now I can have a physical piece of that, and that’s something that’s super special.”
The Panthers set their sights on Young early in the predraft process and traded up to get him. In reading through the entire interview (something we highly recommend) you can see that Carolina drafted him for more than just his ability to throw the football.
