Panthers QB Baker Mayfield jokes about Browns: ‘I’m going to [expletive] them up’

Hell hath no fury like a QB scorned. And Panthers QB Baker Mayfield, who spoke playfully about his Week 1 matchup with the Browns, may hath a tiny bit of fury.

Hell hath no fury like a quarterback scorned . . . sorta.

According to NFL Network analytics expert Cynthia Frelund, Carolina Panthers passer Baker Mayfield had some, um, interesting words for his former employer. When covering the sideline for the Buffalo Bills during Friday’s preseason finale, Frelund said she spoke to Mayfield about his upcoming meeting with the Cleveland Browns—one he’s obviously (and playfully) looking forward to.

“I walked up to him and said, ‘I’m so excited to see you, like, go kick some butt,’ I didn’t say that word,” Frelund said on Monday’s episode of the Around the NFL podcast. “… Go kick some butt, especially Week 1, I like cannot wait. And he uses some expletives and I was like, ‘I just hope you’re like ready.’ He was like, ‘I’m gonna bleep them up.”

But Frelund’s interaction with Mayfield, according to Frelund herself, was done in good taste . . .

Regardless, this’ll be a pretty colorful game to watch.
