Panthers punch first, take 10-0 lead over Seahawks in first quarter

Here we go again.

Here we go again.

The Seahawks appear to be playing a classic trap game against the Panthers just four days before facing their most bitter rivals.

Carolina’s first possession of the game was a case-study in draining the clock. They ran the ball just well enough to burn nearly eight minutes on 13 plays, finishing with a field goal to take a 3-0 lead over Seattle.

Then, disaster struck on the first pass of the game for Geno Smith. Watch cornerback Jaycee Horn make a great break on the ball and pick off Smith’s first throw.

As often happens, the turnover was immediately followed by a touchdown.

Just like that it’s 10-0 Panthers.

On the bright side, there’s still over 50 minutes left to play.
