Panthers open 12.5-point underdogs vs. Saints for Week 17 matchup

New Orleans has won six of the last eight meetings between these teams, and Kyle Allen’s 2018 victory should come with an asterisk.

The pain will soon be over, Panthers fans. There’s only one game left in the 2019 season. Don’t expect any moral victories this time around, though. Last year, the Saints rested their most important players with a top seed already locked up in Week 17. This time, they’re still fighting for playoff position and will be playing Drew Brees and everybody else that matters.

That means Carolina is in for another whooping, fresh off a 38-6 collapse against a far inferior Colts team, at least compared to New Orleans. According to BetMGM, the Saints are considered 12.5-point favorites for this week’s season finale.

The Panthers made things interesting when these teams played at the Superdome earlier in the year. Unfortunately, three short-range misses by rookie kicker Joey Slye cost them the game.
