Panthers LB Damien Wilson arrested after allegedly threatening to kill ex-girlfriend

Panthers LB Damien Wilson was arrested after an ex-girlfriend accused him of threatening to kill her with a tire iron and trying to run her over with his car as he left the scene.

As first reported by Michael Williams of the Dallas Morning News, Carolina Panthers linebacker Damien Wilson was arrested last week in Frisco, Texas after allegedly threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Wilson’s ex-girlfriend, Ryan Sokolosky, spoke with the Dallas Morning News and has accused the 28-year-old—per Pro Football Talk—of “damaging her patio, threatening to kill her with a tire iron, destroying her laptop, choking her friend and trying to run over her with his car as he drove off.” Wilson, who was arrested in 2017 on two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, now faces a charge of assault with bodily injury of a family member.

Williams also reported that Wilson’s attorney, Toby Shook, denied Sokolosky’s allegations.

“Damien Wilson did not commit any type of assault,” he said. “We look forward to all the facts coming out so his name can be cleared.”

The Panthers, who are aware of the arrest and declined to comment on the situation, signed Wilson to a two-year deal back on March 17.
