Panthers hold out 7 players from practice on Wednesday

Panthers rookie WR Jalen Coker, who sat out from the team’s Week 12 loss to the Chiefs, missed practice to start Week 13.

The Carolina Panthers remained without one of their most exciting playmakers on Wednesday.

After he was down as inactive for the team’s Week 12 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, wideout Jalen Coker did not participate in this afternoon’s practice due to his quadriceps injury. Head coach Dave Canales told reporters that he does not expect the rookie to play in this Sunday’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Joining Coker was fellow rookie and tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders. Sanders was carted off from Sunday’s game after injuring his neck.

Canales confirmed on Monday that the 21-year-old escaped a “pretty bad” injury, one that saw him land on the top of his head. He, per Canales, is also expected to sit this weekend.
