We’ve said it a bunch of times over the past few days, and we’ll say it again—the return of Cam Newton has everyone within the Carolina Panthers organization feeling good. And that even extends, for the most part, on the literal physical aspect of things.
The Panthers just about had themselves a perfect attendance record for the first practice of the week ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Washington Football Team. Defensive Marquis Haynes Sr. was the only player held out of Wednesday’s practice due to a foot injury.
Here’s the initial report for Week 11:
Injury | Wed. | Thurs. | Fri. | Game status
DE Marquis Haynes Sr. | Foot | DNP
LB Frankie Luvu | Shoulder | Limited
CB Rashaan Melvin | Hand | Full
CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver III | Toe | Full |
The full participations of Melvin and Thomas-Oliver III were, obviously, great signs after both missed the Week 10 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
In another encouraging bit, fellow corner Stephon Gilmore was not listed—due to his quad or his finger. Head coach Matt Rhule told reporters that they’ll “keep bumping him up” as he continues to ease himself in.
