After yet another loss, the Carolina Panthers will be forced to deal with even more injuries. So, they made an adjustment on their practice squad this afternoon to patch themselves up.
As first reported by Darin Gantt of Panthers.com, the team has signed safety Matthias Farley back to the group. The 31-year-old defender, who was released back on Nov. 15, has appeared in five games for Carolina this season.
Farley initially signed on with his hometown team on Sept. 19. The Charlotte, N.C. native spent his seven previous NFL seasons between the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders.
He recorded nine total tackles over his five outings, which included a start in Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins. Farley’s return comes after starting safety Vonn Bell exited this past Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans with a shoulder injury.
To make room for Farley on the practice squad, the Panthers released defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence—who joined the team on Nov. 10.
