Panthers activate G Austin Corbett from IR

The Panthers have officially activated G Austin Corbett from injured reserve.

The Carolina Panthers are about to get a bit stronger on their offensive line.

As announced by the team on Tuesday, right guard Austin Corbett has been activated from injured reserve. The move should come as no surprise—as the 21-day window for Corbett, which was initiated 20 days ago, was nearly up.

The sixth-year hog molly tore his ACL in last year’s regular-season finale against the New Orleans Saints. He missed the first six games of 2023 after beginning the campaign on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.

Corbett will be a welcomed sight for a struggling Carolina offense, one that’s used three different starters in his place. Rookie Chandler Zavala, veteran Calvin Throckmorton and second-year lineman Cade Mays have each gotten a crack in place of the former second-round pick.

The 28-year-old should now be set to embark on his second season for the Panthers. He started in each of the team’s 17 games in 2022.
