There are a lot of former Oregon Ducks playing in the NFL this year, but two have arguably been getting most of the attention from Duck fans so far this year, for understandable reasons.
Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert and New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez have been frequent topics of conversation over the past several months for Oregon fans. Unfortunately, this past weekend, both suffered injuries in their respective games.
In a over the Las Vegas Raiders, Herbert reportedly fractured a finger on his non-throwing hand and lacerated his fingernail. According to multiple reports, Herbert is not expected to miss any time going forward, with the Chargers enjoying a bye in Week 5.

The outlook for Gonzalez is not as optimistic. The Patriots CB suffered a shoulder injury against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Going forward, there is not a timetable for his return, though it is not expected to be in the near future.
Patriots’ first-round pick Christian Gonzalez and pass-rushing standout Matthew Judon both are out indefinitely while they seek second opinions on their injuries, per sources. Gonzalez injured his shoulder, Judon suffered a lower bicep tendon tear.
Two significant losses.
