[autotag]Damone Clark[/autotag] may have seen his draft stock take a hit this week, as he underwent spinal fusion surgery that will likely keep render him unavailable for his entire rookie season. Still, it didn’t impact his stock much as far as Easterling is concerned.

This is about where he was projected before his prognosis became known, which makes some sense. Third-round picks generally aren’t relied on for immediate reps anyways, and given the fact that he led the SEC (and finished second in the nation) in tackles in 2021, it makes sense that a team would be willing to take a flyer on him on Day 2.

The Chiefs certainly need help on defense after falling short against [autotag]Joe Burrow[/autotag] and the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship this season, and Clark could develop into a starter when he’s able to return to the field.
