The Green Bay Packers won’t have to face three of the star players for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at Lambeau Field. Kyle Shanahan’s team made left tackle Trent Williams inactive due to an ankle injury, and he’ll join quarterback Brock Purdy, edge rusher Nick Bosa and cornerback Charvarius Ward on the sideline on Sunday.
One could make an argument that Purdy (an NFL MVP candidate last season), Bosa (one of the best pass-rushers in football) and Williams (one of the best left tackles in football) are the three most important and valuable players for the 49ers. Ward led the NFL in passes defensed and was a second-team All-Pro at cornerback last season.
The Packers aren’t at full strength either. Matt LaFleur’s team ruled out cornerback Jaire Alexander and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper on Friday and then made safety Kitan Oladapo and offensive lineman Jacob Monk inactive as healthy scratches.
Defensive lineman Colby Wooden, who was questionable to play, is active.
