Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named a first-team All-Pro for the 2020 NFL season by the Associated Press.
Rodgers, who threw an NFL-high 48 touchdown passes and posted a league-best 121.5 passer rating, received 46 of the possible 50 votes for first-team All-Pro. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen split the remaining four votes.
The honor is Rodgers’ third first-team selection of his career. He was previously a first-team All-Pro during both the 2011 and 2014 seasons, both years when he eventually won the league’s MVP award from the AP.
Rodgers powered the Packers to a 13-3 record and the league’s top-scoring offense in 2020, all while leading the NFL in completion percentage (70.7) and producing 51 total touchdowns, the most of his career.
Rodgers also finished first in the NFL in touchdown percentage, interception percentage, adjusted net yards per attempt and QBR.
Rodgers became the first quarterback since Steve Young in 1992 to lead the NFL in in passing touchdowns, passer rating, completion percentage, touchdown percentage and interception percentage.
Rodgers’ 48 touchdown passes set a new franchise record and finished tied with Dan Marino for the fifth-most all-time. His previous career high was 45, set in 2011. Rodgers also came within one percentage point of tying his NFL record for passer rating in a season, finishing at 121.5. He now holds the top two passer rating seasons of all-time and is the only quarterback in NFL history with two seasons of 120.0 or greater.
Rodgers was nothing if not consistently great. He threw at least three touchdown passes in 12 of 16 games and at least four scores in seven games. Only twice did his passer rating in a game finish under 100.0. He also completed at least 70.0 percent of his passes in 10 games.
The Packers had four first-team All-Pros and six total All-Pros in 2020.
