The Green Bay Packers are 8-2 and coming off a shutout win over the Seattle Seahawks, but Matt LaFleur’s team isn’t opening as a significant favorite for Sunday’s road trip to play the Minnesota Vikings.
According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Packers opened as 2.5-point road favorites over the Vikings in Week 11.
Mike Zimmer’s team just went on the road to beat the favored Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10, likely providing some optimism entering this pivotal NFC North matchup.
The Vikings, at 4-5 overall, desperately need a win over the Packers to get back into the race for the division crown. It’s only Week 11, but LaFleur’s team can go up 4.5 games with six games to go (or essentially clinch the title) with a road win in Minnesota.
The Packers were 1.5-point underdogs at Minnesota in Week 1 last year but covered with a 9-point win. The Vikings returned the favor two months later, beating the Packers at Lambeau Field as a 6-point underdog.
The last time the Packers were a road favorite, they covered a 5.5-point spread against the Bears in Chicago.
The Packers are 9-1 against the spread this season with nine straight covers.
