The Green Bay Packers might have an option available to replace receiver Devin Funchess, who opted out of the 2020 season.
According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers hosted a visit for free agent receiver Malik Turner on Friday.
Turner, 24, spent the last two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. An undrafted free agent out of Illinois, Turner (6-2, 202) caught 15 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown over 15 games last season. He averaged 11.1 yards per target and caught six passes over 20 yards, and quarterbacks had a passer rating of 120.5 when targeting him in 2019.
Turner did have a big drop during the Seahawks’ NFC playoff loss to the Packers at Lambeau Field in January.
The Packers are likely searching for a veteran player to help replace Funchess, the team’s only notable addition at receiver this offseason. He opted out due to family health concerns over the coronavirus.
