Packers elevate CBs Robert Rochell and Kamal Hadden from practice squad for Week 4 vs. Vikings

The Packers elevated CB Robert Rochell and CB Kamal Hadden from the practice squad for Week 4 against the Vikings.

The Green Bay Packers elevated cornerbacks Robert Rochell and Kamal Hadden from the practice squad to the gameday roster for Week 4. The move was announced Saturday, making Rochell and Hadden available for Matt LaFleur and the Packers for the Sunday’s showdown with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers could be without cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Carrington Valentine due to injury, necessitating a pair of elevations at the position entering Sunday. Alexander is questionable with groin and quad injuries, while Valentine is doubtful with an ankle injury. It’s possible the Packers don’t expect Alexander to play, or they wanted an extra cornerback in case Alexander is limited or leaves the game.

Of note, the Packers did not elevate quarterback Sean Clifford. Multiple reports Saturday said Jordan Love will return and play Sunday against the Vikings. Malik Willis would be the backup quarterback.

Rochell was elevated last week and played 12 special teams snaps. Hadden was a sixth-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2024 draft who arrived in Green Bay on Aug. 30. He’ll make his NFL debut if he plays a snap on Sunday.

If Alexander and Valentine can’t play, Eric Stokes and Corey Ballentine would be the expected starters at cornerback.

All teams are allowed to elevate up to two players from the practice squad each week. An individual player can only be elevated from the practice squad three times per season, so Rochell has one elevation left. Hadden has two. On Monday, Rochell and Hadden will revert back to the practice squad.
