Packers add WR Jayden Reed to Week 12 injury report with chest injury

The Packers now have 17 players on the Week 12 injury report: rookie WR Jayden Reed was added Tuesday with a chest injury.

As if the injury report of the Green Bay Packers wasn’t already long enough. On Tuesday, or just two days before playing the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, the Packers added rookie receiver Jayden Reed to the injury report with a new chest injury.

The updated count? As of Tuesday, the Packers have 17 players — 16 active players and one designated to return from injured reserve — listed on the Week 12 injury report.

Coach Matt LaFleur said Reed initially suffered the injury during Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers, played through the issue during the game and didn’t think it was a problem until he returned to the facility on Tuesday.

“He came in today and felt like it was a problem,” LaFleur said.

Reed, who has 80 or more total yards in three of the last four games, was listed as limited on Tuesday. He is the team’s leading receiver through the first 10 games.

The same six players estimated as non-participants on Monday were out for Tuesday’s walk-through session: linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, tight end Josiah Deguara, running back Aaron Jones, tight end Luke Musgrave, receiver Dontayvion Wicks and running back Emanuel Wilson.

The Packers did get some good news on the injury front. Outside linebacker Rashan Gary, receiver Christian Watson and cornerback Corey Ballentine were upgraded from limited to full participants.

With 16 active players on the injury report, 30 percent of the Packers’ 53-man roster is dealing with an injury worth reporting. Safety Darnell Savage is still on injured reserve and has a 21-day window to be activated.

The Packers will provide a final injury report with playing status designations on Wednesday. Matt LaFleur’s team goes to Detroit to play the Lions on Thursday.
