Oregon vs. Weber State: Instant Reactions to Ducks’ win vs. the Wildcats

The Oregon Ducks got a big win vs. the Weber State Wildcats on Sunday afternoon in Matthew Knight Arena

Eighteen seconds into the game, Weber State Wildcats center Vasilije Vucinic hit a jump shot, putting the Wildcats up 2-0.

From that point, it was all Oregon Ducks.

In their final non-conference game of the 2024-25 season, the Ducks dominated Weber State, winning 89-49. After Jackson Shelstad put the Ducks ahead, 3-2, with a three-point jumper, the Ducks never trailed, and they led by as much as 41.

The Ducks have overachieved all season, ranked as the No. 9 team in the country with a 12-1 record. Oregon hasn’t seen to many challenging opponents, but that is about to change as they stroll all the way into conference play.

Throughout the game, the Ducks employed a full-court press, a strategy Coach Dana Altman doesn’t often go to, but against Weber State it was successful.

Oregon’s win over Weber State wraps up the Ducks’ non-conference play for the season. The Ducks now have 18 conference games ahead of them before the Big Ten tournament. Just like in football, the Ducks men’s basketball team is already thriving in it’s new conference.
