Oregon RB coach Carlos Locklyn given raise, contract extension through 2026

Oregon Ducks running backs coach Carlos Locklyn has signed a contract extension that will keep him in Eugene through the 2026 season.

The Oregon Ducks are keeping one of their most productive members of the coaching staff in Eugene for the foreseeable future.

Ducks Wire can confirm that Oregon is giving running backs coach Carlos Locklyn a raise and a contract extension that will last through the 2026 season. 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz first reported the news on Friday afternoon.

Locklyn has proven to be one of the most valuable coaches on Oregon’s roster, routinely turning out highly productive rushers since coming to Eugene, with the likes of Bucky Irving, Jordan James, and Noah Whittington all having career seasons under his coaching.

Locklyn was a popular name in the coaching market this offseason, receiving offers from a number of high-profile schools to join their staff. However, he turned those down to stay in Eugene and work alongside Dan Lanning.

Going into the 2024 season, Irving is expected to be a prominent NFL Draft pick as one of the best running backs in the draft class, while James and Whittington lead one of the strongest RB groups in the nation.
